Grant Proposal Writing Training Content
KENPRO Team adopts the theory of change in training grant proposal writing to the members of not for profit organizations. Theory of change is is used to explain the question of how and why the desired change should be brought about. The theory is used in the preparation of a proposal to highlight the current issues in the community that the project aims to solve as well as the expected impacts of the project. The figure below shows the theory of change cycle as applied by KENPRO team in proposal writing.
For the purpose of training, the following parameters of the Theory of Change in Proposal Writing are addressed: situation analysis; conceptualized desired change; Change inputs with project preconditions and illustratable pathways; project implementation, monitoring, accountability and learning; project assumptions.
Training Methodology
Participatory approach will be used in the training. This will include lecture method, group discussion method, illustrations/ demonstration method, along with examples drawn from past projects. This approach is meant to impart hand on skills to the participants, help them to articulate and examine present learning in light of their own past experiences.
Based on the magnitude of the proposed content, the training is proposed to take 3 days. However, KENPRO Team relies on the Terms of References from the client.
At the end of the training, soft copies of the teaching and learning resources are shared. If follow up training is required, the Team is ready for further engagement.
