Youth Entrepreneurship Program for Self-reliance

Executive Summary: The national youth policy, “visualizes a society where youth have an equal opportunity as other citizens to realize their fullest potential, productively participating in economic, social, political, cultural and religious life without fear or favour.” Despite this visualization, youth in Kenya continue to face myriad of challenges including but not limited to lack of employment, lack of basic youth support services, substance abuse, youth reproductive health issues and breaking of family and societal value system. This program, entitled “Youth Entrepreneurship Program for Self-Sustenance (YEPSS)”, is proposed with an aim of empowering youth through providing training in entrepreneurship for self-reliance.

The specific objectives of the proposed program are to: a) Empower skilled youth with skills to identify, initiate and manage their own businesses; b) Equip youth with resource mobilization skills and c) Train youth on how to enhance business sustainability through monitoring and evaluation.

Undaunted, YEPSS is a program committed to excellence, with a clear goal, objectives, and passion for delivering outstanding results to change the socio-economic welfare of youth not only in Kenya, but also in Africa.
