An Overview
KENPRO Internship and Mentorship Program (KIMP) offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain direct practical experience in Project planning and Management, Research, and ICT. The principal aim of Kenpro Internship and Mentorship Program is to bridge the gap between theory and practice.


Scope

Kenpro Internship and Mentorship Program covers the following areas:

Project Planning and Management Skills: The program equips students with  basics of project management including  project planning, proposal writing skills and  Project Evaluation

Research Skills: The program equips students with research skills including writing research concepts, conducting literature review, drawing research design and methodology,  developing data collection instruments, data coding and analysis

ICT Skills: KIMP covers ICT skill development areas including  Content Management Applications (WordPress), Web Administration  and online content writing, Online Marketing, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) concepts.

Soft skills for employability: KIMP equips the mentees with soft skills for employability including but not limited to communication skills, team spirit, problem solving skills, presentation skills, financial skills and entrepreneurship skills.

Program Requirements

Academic, Professional Qualifications and Relevant experience:

  • Fourth year or a completed Degree in either Research, Project Management.
  • Project Management,  or a Social Sciences related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • No work experience required but a demonstration of experience in extra-curricular or non-academic activities of value will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to take initiative, “roll-up one’s sleeves” and flexible, adaptable, and able to execute a range of job duties and changing priorities

Program Terms

  • This is an internship position based in Nairobi, Kenya with BOTH Virtual and Physical mentorship expectation.
  • The initial contract internship  and mentorship period is ordinarily of three (3) months BUT can be shorter or longer depending on individual and unique needs.
  • The program employs BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) concept. Thus, Laptop is a mandatory requirement in the program.
  • The program is FREE for NEEDY and Deserving students. People of Good will are WELCOME to support the Program.
